Attempted Murder Charge Filed Against Newton County Woman

Felony Charges have been filed against a woman who attacked her sister.

According to a press release from Newton County Sheriff Glenn Wheeler, 61-year-old Rosemarie Starr is accused of attacking her sister at a residence near Pelsor. Wheeler said deputies had been notified that a 67-year-old woman had been struck several times with a hammer before the victim was able to flee.

Starr was eventually located and charged with Attempted Murder in the 2nd-Degree, Domestic Battery in the 1st-Degree, and Terroristic Threatening. 

Starr is in the Newton County Jail on a $500,000 Bond.
